Phangan Beach Resort is a little gem of a place, away from the madness that is Haad Rin, yet close enough to flag down a sangthaew along the main road if you like to party. The rooms are comfortable, reasonably priced. It is worth going for the a/c rooms if the budget stretches that far!! Food is fabulous, and once you come it'll be hard to leave as it's a very sociable place. Very relaxed and friendly

Excellent time here, resort is beautiful, staff are friendly and efficient, food is great and above all it's amazing value for money - can't recommend enough!

The view from our bungalow was amazing looking directly at the sea although the sea was not very pleasant to swim in. The bungalow was of a high standard compared to most. The english food at the restaurant was good but varied in size and quality throughout our stay.

The staff were so rude (not the Thai staff) especially the owners. The woman got drunk early on the full moon whilst trying to serve drinks and would only talk to the guys who showed her attention. Us being girls waited over ten minutes to get one drink. The 'free' BBQ required us to buy drinks which were completely overpriced (more than buying a meal at a restaurant.) The location was not good, about half an hour from the full moon (200 baht return journey) and there were little facilities nearby. The room was overpriced for what you got and you can find better value for money. We lost our key at the full moon party which was likely to happen, and if they had allowed us to leave the key at reception then we would not have had to pay the 2000 baht fine (40 pounds.) which we could not afford to pay.

Full moon party and the expensive restaurant food was nice.

Where can I start? First of all, your hotel charged us an extra 400 baht over the full moon period, where-as other hotels did not. The restaurant was expensive for a backpacker budget, alongside not being near any other cheaper restaurants. The 'free bbq' required us to buy not one, but multiple drinks which were overpriced and was not made clear to the customers. This resulted us wasting money on one drink, and being treated rudely when asking for a bbq voucher when other customers then waited and got it free at the end of the night without buying a drink.

The location was so nice and Andy the owner was a top bloke and always around for a chat and advice.

    Fabulous

Excellent hotel staff who really try to get to know you. The food is probably the best on the island. Great selection and incredible quality of dishes.

No swimming area. The beach water is too shallow to swim in but a pool is now under construction.

    Very good

Originally, we booked a week in the typical wooden bungalow (air-con a must for us) which steps out directly onto the beach - a 5 mile long strand of white sand. As this was fairly small, we were able to transfer to a larger, brick-built bungalow for the last two nights. The resort has a good, very competitively priced restaurant and a popular beach bar open in the evenings. The setting is tranquil, but there are many bars, restaurants and other facilities within walking distance. We liked the Fisherman's Bar/Restaurant - a 20 minute walk towards Haad Tai. The resort is owned by an Englishman, Andy, with his Latvian wife, Datchuk (spelling?) who helped us to book cars, taxis etc. The Thai / Burmese staff are delightful. We'd like to go back.

The wooden bungalows (with fan or air-con) are popular with backpackers and younger travellers, but older travellers may prefer the extra space in the brick bungalows. The tide goes out a long way, so it's not always possible to have a good swim in the shallow water. However, a swimming pool is being installed for next season. this will be a boon. Be careful with car hire. A Suzuki Jeep costs only 800 baht per day, but nobody seems to bother about insurance or driving licences. They just pay the fine if stopped by the police. Electricity supply on the island is not constant. Be prepared for periods (usually short) without power.

    Fabulous

Owners and staff are incredibly friendly and helpfull. I like the way the huts are build; in a lush garden. Rooms are cosy. Restaurant is cosy and comfortable for relax and reading a book.

It feels a bit unfair to say something on internet because I should have said something to the owners. The mattresses in my room were not so comfortable. I could really feel the springs in my back. The restaurant closes at 08.30 pm. It would be handy if it was open another hour.

The hotel has its own beach with amazing views. The hotel manager is extremely helpful. The hotel is away from all the hustle and bustle of the Full Moon Party, but not too far away that you can't enjoy it. Only 15mins in a taxi or scooter

Good & Pretty Location Excellent Location and frankly beautiful, which for me tends to give a distortedly good impression The breakfast was excellent value. Some Customers obviously enjoy staying here but Beware - to be sure if when you book a Resort, that it is 'your cup of tea', read all of the feedback from other Customers for any establishment you are reviewing.

Both Passports retained Room Cleaning only if specifically requested.Advised potential thieves - but can use Reception as no room safe. unaccompanied to room - extensive printed details on the wall charges for replacement of virtually everything, including e.g. the cost for a broken fridge shelf or lavatory seat... ONE Passport when I needed it to rent a motorbike from a neighbouring Motorbike Rental; as it was asked for by the Renter - who delivered the motorbike. After he checked my Passport and we had completed the Rental Documents, I handed the Passport back to the female partner of the Proprietorship. Imagine my shock when the Rental period ended and we return the bike to the Renter's Shop with thanks, and after we turned to walk the short distance back to the Resort - the Renter called out to us to step back to pick up my Passport - given to him, without my permission or knowledge. Cabin located near their beach bar which had music till 11.30pm - base sounds reverberated inside the cabin. Cold water - on departure, room was checked in detail & told there was switch behind a flap to activate heater. Humiliating for Room Inspection, to get the second Passport back; as inspection included each side of each of the towels, for Full Moon PartyBody Paint. Has feel of 'Back-Packer' accommodation. For similar charges elsewhere we have experienced more of a 'Resort Feel' Check cancellation details, as we were not entitled to 3,700baht refund, despite giving a couple of days notice

the best thing i liked was the rapport with the owner, it really made my stay excellent.it was a personal service and every care was given to ensure a memorable, comfortable stay.

    Good

The hotel is directly at the beach, which is very comfortable. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are good and in comfortable, have showers and toilet. The whole hotel area was very quiet during my stage, which was exactly what I was looking for.

The prices for the bar and the restaurant are a bit high. I was able to get cheaper and better food outside of the resort.
